Wookie is one of the most important players in the UK Garage scene - his sound inspired a legion of tracks and artists, and his tracks and remixes are recognised worldwide.

To celebrate Wookie’s impending set for Backto95 at 51st State Festival, we’re revisiting five of his best tracks and remixes.

Wookie - Battle (feat.Iain)
Hitting the UK Top 10 in 2000, ‘Battle’ is one of the most well-known 2-step tracks of all time, and it’s still sounding pretty amazing in 2017.

Wookie - Down On Me
Wookie’s debut single from 1999 has aged well - the combination of the infectious bassline and that vocal sample makes for a classic garage masterpiece.

Gabrielle - Sunshine (Wookie Remix)
At the turn of the millennium, Gabrielle was one of the most prolific British popstars, and Wookie’s remixing skills transformed a mid-tempo ballad into a dancefloor smash that still sounds huge today.

Sia - Little Lion Man (Exemen Works)
Under the alias of Exemen, Wookie created a remix that many consider to be the ultimate garage track; a remix synonymous with the genre. A truly iconic record.

Disclosure - Voices (Wookie Remix)
In 2013, Wookie teamed up with the artists driving through garage’s rebirth. Wookie’s remix of Disclosure’s hit is a smooth, piano-driven banger that completely transforms the track from its original sound.
