When it comes to big names in UK Garage they don't come much bigger than Mr Blakey, he's quite simply one of the best-known, talented and respected MC's out there. Mr Blakey began he's career almost 14 years ago, He was dragged along to Raindance at 16 and there for the first time he heard a club MC in action. He was inspired and spent the next few years establishing himself as an Underground MC. The early days saw him making a name for himself on the Hardcore, as well as the emerging jungle scene at raves like Stush, Jungle Warfare and Raveworld. As for Garage Mr Blakey began when a friend(The late Great Peter La Cosa RIP!)kept putting him down on his party flyers without asking. Eventually he agreed to pick up the mic, the result, a screaming crowd, and the rave, the legendary La Cosa Nostra. Since then Mr Blakey has become one of the true core members of the garage scene. He has played every major club including Sun City, Garage nation, Twice as nice, Exposure, Roast and Sidewinder. He was the no1 resident at Smoove for almost 2 years. Not content with playing the biggest clubs, events include the Essential festivals, the Southport Weekender, Knebworth and both the New Year parties at the Millennium Dome. Blakey has performed all over the world with appearances in Turkey, Switzerland, Germany, Scandinavia, Greece, Ibiza, all over the USA and is also a part of what has been without doubt the most successful act in Ayai Napa 2000 and 2001 -The Specialists with DJ Luck, MC neat and CKP. A skilled lyricist, he has recorded tracks for labels such as Battle of the MCs, Middlerow, Lush Music, DFL and Pure Silk alongside artists such as Luck and Neat, Jameson, Dynamite, Sweetie Irie, MC Creed, CKP, Carl H, Double G and AC Burrell. Mr Blakey's immense charisma and relaxed and friendly persona make him a natural choice for presenting on radio. He has appeared on Galaxy FM with the Dreem Teem, twice on The Dreem Teem presents on Radio One, guest slots on 1Xtra, Ministry of Sound Radio, formerly a monthly residency on Kiss FM with Luck and Neat for 2 years and has had regular guest slots and interviews on Choice FM. As comfortable in front of the camera as behind the microphone he has hosted features on 'Fantasy Island Ayia Napa' on Channel 4, the 'A to Z of garage' for Bravo and was a consultant on the hit Channel 4 series 'Faking it', who helped to turn a Barrister into an MC. His thoughts and views were also seen in print in the extremely popular column he used to write for in 'Klub Knowledge' magazine. This is one of those rare performers who manage to combine great talent and ambition with a bright, fun and personable manner.
